Jeremy Patterson is the proud owner and lead guide of Off Grid Angler, a fly fishing guide service located in the heart of North Idaho. Growing up in the area, Jeremy fell in love with fishing at a young age, spending countless hours on the banks of the Priest River honing his skills and learning the ins and outs of fly fishing.
With a passion for the sport and a desire to share his love of fly fishing with others, Jeremy founded Off Grid Angler to offer expertly guided trips to both experienced and novice anglers. With years of experience fishing North Idaho's waters, he has a deep understanding of the area's top fishing spots and techniques, allowing him to provide clients with an unforgettable and productive fishing experience.
Jeremy is not just a knowledgeable guide, but also a patient and supportive teacher, who takes pride in helping his clients improve their fly fishing skills. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just looking to try fly fishing for the first time, Jeremy's personalized approach, expertise, and friendly demeanor make him the perfect guide for your next adventure.
Eric joins Off Grid Angler on the heels of more than thirty years chasing trout, steelhead, and salmon upon the legendary high desert rivers and coastal streams of Oregon. He first set foot at Priest Lake as a city kid from San Francisco. His folks had purchased the old Corner and christened it Frizzy O’Leary’s, the bawdy roadhouse at the turn to Luby Bay Road, after longing for a wild and natural place to call their own. It took a bit of time, but the California kid with the mullet came to love home in the Selkirks, traipsing along the forested creeks and beaver ponds of the Kaniksu and floating the still of the big lake and plying its tributaries.
Even during his career days in Oregon, Eric never really left the lake. His family kept a cabin near Hill’s Resort and they moored their 1946 Chris-Craft, the old Paiute, at Bishop’s Marina. Upon a full-time return during the autumn of 2023, one of his very first connections was with Jeremy Patterson. The two would fish together and discussions about the guide business naturally commenced. There may have been a scotch or two involved.
As a fly fisher, a traveler, host, baker, and boatman since his earliest days, Eric founded “Getting Your Feet Wet” a hosted introduction to fly fishing that paired culinary exploration with angling instruction. When the weather cools, he continues to run outfitters’ kitchens and camps on the Deschutes, the Metolius, and in lodges upon the storied steelhead rivers up and down the Pacific coast. All the while finding moving water to be his inspiration and his medium. And guiding people through those currents, an indelible gift.
Open fire cooking and the love of eating in the outdoors is central to Eric’s trips along the Priest River and throughout its northern lakes. Each day, he looks forward to sharing these waters, along with a lively meal and conversation, some gentle instruction if it’s needed, and more than a few laughs. Above all, he hopes you’ll join him in these pursuits, and in the search for wily trout curiously nosing up to vibrant flies of hook, hair, and feather.
